Costa Rica News – Exciting news! Upward Spirals is thrilled to share with you today the latest edition of the Organic Directory! Over 10,000 people have used the directory to find locations around Costa Rica where organic products are sold.
Since the Organic Directory was first published in 2015, Costa Rica has seen a huge growth in the availability of organic products. The first edition listed 65 locations around the country to find organic products, now we are excited to share the latest edition of the directory features 188!
Consumers and producers around Costa Rica are quickly becoming aware of how important it is for our health, nature, and our communities to buy healthy food and products free of toxic chemicals. We want to have the choice of healthy food in our grocery stores and restaurants, and we are making it a priority to remove carcinogenic materials from our communities. People increasingly understand that choosing organic is better for personal health, better for farmers, and helps create a sustainable future for everyone.
This directory is a collaborative work by Upward Spirals and the community of Costa Rica. It is part of our objective to empower those working to build a regenerative, local, organic food system. We believe that helping people to grow and eat healthful food strengthens communities, reduces environmental impacts, and brings integrity to our purchases and food consumption.
In this latest edition of the Organic Directory, we’ve added a huge section of organizations helping producers and consumers move towards more healthful and organic options. These educational programs, demonstration sites, consultants, and support organizations are helping new and experienced farmers around the country learn sustainable and regenerative growing methods and business practices.
We’ve also gathered a huge library of free books and guides for those wanting to learn more about growing organically, and related topics like permaculture, natural building, community development, and much more.
